Garage door off track, snapped cables and stuck doors

A door that's off its track or hanging crooked can come down without warning. If you're in Long Branch, Ocean Township, Neptune, Asbury Park, Wall, Belmar or Spring Lake, call and we'll connect you with a local garage door company that can get it back on track and working right.

If your door is stuck or crooked

  1. Stop using the opener. Running it again can bend the track and the door panels.
  2. Keep people, pets and cars out from under the door.
  3. Don't try to force the rollers back into the track or pull on the cables.
  4. If the door is stuck open, leave it where it is rather than trying to lower it by hand.
  5. Call us and tell us how the door is sitting.

Common causes

  • A car or mower bumping the door or the track
  • A snapped or frayed lift cable
  • A broken spring that throws the door off balance
  • Worn rollers or loose track brackets
  • Something in the way when the door came down
